Luggage
Choosing what works for you

I have one bag I use for everything…taking stuff to school, weekend travel and as my carry on. Beside the problem that it is wearing out, I also stuff my carry on to the max. While it still fits under the seat, it is extremely heavy to carry around the airport. It doesn’t sit well on my carry on (and sometimes I check all luggage so I do not have anything to rest it on). I have back issues, so this year I have decided to grow up and purchase a dedicated piece of personal luggage, preferably with wheels. Tip When purchasing luggage (under seat or carry on) check airline website for sizes before buying. There are pieces of luggage that claim they are under seat but are actually larger than airline requirements. I know this because I shopped last weekend. This made me decide that an internet search for this particular piece of luggage and then go to store or order. I love hard sided luggage and there is a company that actually makes a hard sided under seat piece of luggage, but I ultimately decided against it. I have stuffed my trusty bag under too many different under seat storage areas to know that hard sided would end up becoming a carry on and that just adds more drama to travel than I am interested in. After much on line research and in store shopping I ended up in a a completely different direction. I did NOT end up with a wheeling under seat bag. The reason? They are too small to hold my 14” laptop, or anything for that matter. They are extremely small inside. I ended up with Delsey Weekender. I bought this with my own money. I recommend looking online for the best price as I did not pay what is on their website. I chose this bag because even though Delsey’s website lists it as too big to International airline standards, when you actually measure it, it works. Now, I can’t stuff it all the way for international airlines, but it will work. I like that it is a large center compartment, but also has a lot of pockets. It has a laptop pocket that my laptop fits in, leaving the center compartment open for all the things I carry. It actually has a smart band so it will stay securely on my carry on (when I don’t check it). I will update you on what I think of it when I take it on a trip. This review is 100% unbiased and I have no relationship with the brand.
